OSHA requires each company using access equipment in the workplace to designate a "competent person" on the job site. This person is someone who is "capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them."
Associated Scaffolding Company offers one-day educational programs to give your personnel the basic knowledge to function as a competent person for the erection and use of supported scaffolds, swing stages or fall protection systems. These programs cover the standards governing each system and help prepare students to identify and correct hazards.
The minimum class size is 10 students. If you have 10 or more employees who would like to attend, contact us, and we can arrange to have these classes taught at your location. The size of our classes may be negotiated for larger classes. Our largest class to date is a bilingual training class for 600 students held in a local arena.

Permit Required Confined Space Entry
Confined space incidents are not the most common, but they can be the most deadly. Many confined space fatalities involve not one, but two victims, the worker and the rescuer. This class was created to help prevent tragic accidents. Through discussion and activities we break down the regulation into terms that are easily understood.
Rough Terrain Forklift Operator Training
There are many forklift accidents each year resulting in injuries and fatalities. It is required by OSHA that every forklift operator must receive proper training (both classroom and practical), regular evaluations and refresher training as needed. The criterion for forklift safety training is found in OSHA’s Powered Industrial Fork Trucks Standard (29 CFR 1910.178(1). This course will cover all the requirements for Class 7 Rough terrain trucks with pneumatic tires.
OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health
Our OSHA 10 hour construction course is designed for construction workers, foremen, job supervisors, and anyone involved in the construction industry. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926

Testimonials
“I wanted to take the time to thank you and Associated Scaffolding for offering the Scaffold Erector Training Program. Overall, I found the class to be very beneficial. I can say I truly learned more about scaffolds in three days than I had in my 5 years at SPS”. As I told you, I would welcome the opportunity to attend additional classes in the future.
Thanks, again.

I recently participated in the Competent Person Scaffolding Training at Associated. The course was not only informative but prepared me to inspect work around the hospital that required scaffolding, to insure the safety of contractors and hospital employees alike.
The course was well organized and delivered in a timely fashion. Training materials were more than sufficient to deliver the information. The instructor was knowledgeable about the subject matter.
I recommend any person with duties involving scaffolding to participate in this program.

On August 9, 2011, I contacted you with an immediate need that suddenly arose at one of our off-site locations involving specific training needs. The training involved two of our Field Technicians to have Supported Scaffold Training, so they were able to perform their assigned duties. Not getting this training immediately would have impacted our ability to meet the customer’s rigorous schedule. You were not only able to accommodate our request, you did it within the time restraints we had. By you graciously accommodating our request, we were able to complete the assigned job and successfully complete it ahead of schedule.
I cannot overstate the value of Associated Scaffolding and confidence we gained from your organization. We will continue to utilize your company on future training needs and appreciate everything you were able to do to assist us in our time of need.
Many Thanks,
Troy O'Donnell
