They do not stop a fall and should not be treated as a replacement for a guardrail or personal fall arrest system where those systems are required.
On qualifying low-slope roofing projects, warning lines are used as part of an OSHA-permitted fall protection setup. Placement, roof slope, work activity, equipment movement, and distance from the edge all affect whether the system is suitable.
