For over 85 years, Universal Manufacturing has been a leader in designing and engineering steel scaffolding and access solutions, including catwalks, guardrails, and modular platforms. The company was founded in 1934 in Zelienople, Pennsylvania when 17 workers established the company to specialize in ladders and mobile work platforms. As they grew, they became known for their sectional frame scaffolding and had a reputation for superior quality and industry-leading engineering support.
Through the 1960s and 1970s, they focused on growing their reach and their product lines with distributors nationwide, but by staying at the forefront of industry trends, they maintained their reputation for innovation. In 1994, they introduced a proprietary line of ring-lock equipment followed soon by engineered access solutions involving module platforms. Today, they are continuing their mission to provide top-notch service and the highest quality scaffold and access solutions.
